Review of topic

What activities did you find to be most valuable?
I found all of the activities in this topic to be quite valuable. Exploring Web2.0 tools has given me lots of ideas and ways of using these tools in my future classroom, as well as now being capable of using professional networking tools that will help me as a professional to network and share ideas with colleagues and other teachers around Australia. Producing the Radio Cut was valuable because it taught me the basics of how to conduct an interview and how to create an edited sound file. This activity was a preparation to create a digital story and it really did help because when it came time to create the digital story I already had the skills in how to conduct an interview and how to create a sound file, therefore it was much easier and quicker to create my digital story. I really enjoyed producing my digital story and these skills will stay with me when I go out to schools to begin teaching.

What activities did you find to be least valuable?
For myself, the Radio Cut would have been the least valuable because I have already had opportunities in my previous studies to create and edit sound files. However in thinking about the structure of this topic I do believe it is an important assignment to include as it gives those students that have not had any experience before to learn these skills.

Summarise what you learned as a result of doing this topic and how this may or may not be useful to you in the future.
I have learnt that multimedia literacy is a valuable aspect in teaching and learning as a student and a teacher. This topic has provided me with the skills that I need to use the relevant tools personally, but more importantly gaining an understanding and range of ideas on how to use these tools in the classroom to enhance student's learning. In thinking about myself as a teacher I can see myself incorporating digital technologies into my classrooms in the years to come, and using these technologies to engage and motivate students in their learning.
